Hi everyone I’m planning on moving out to Las Vegas in a couple years once get enough saved up. I just want prescription medications to know what’s the best area to live in. I need to find a good area that’s safe. I’ve read that Henderson, Boulder City and Downtown are good. Plus, I would like to know what the best apartments that are clean and safe for the most part affordable.

Henderson is okay, but if you want a good safe area, then find something in Green Valley.
Downtown? I don’t think so.. not good at all. Boulder City is pretty far if you plan on working in Las Vegas. Newer Henderson (Green Valley, Seven Hills, Anthem) and Summerlin are some of the better areas. Old Henderson is not good. Stay in the south, southwest or west.
try this one used to live there
Summit at Sun Ridge
11000 S. Eastern Henderson
Nevada
Got a house now.
Nice place and clean. and two pools. and can walk to the stroes.
Job in downtown. 10 minutes by car.
IT is a very nice place.
They have web page to check it out.
You will not be disappointed.
Don’t go to vegas theres a small town 30 min out of vegas called Boulder City. I live here and their apartments are perfect!!!!!! Also realy small and big houses!!!!!
We moved here in Aug 2008 and we live on the south strip, where I live is VERY nice, affordable and safe. The Sedona on the Blvd. For a two bedroom condo we pay less then 1k. We also have three pools, gym, racketball court and a tennis court. They are all individually owned.
We are in a gated community with a guard. Very controlled, pretty and everyone is nice. We have not had any trouble with vandals, cars or stealing.
There is more areas to live in. Stick to south Las Vegas, which is green valley, athem hills, seven hills. You could also look at the southwest area of Las Vegas, been there a couple of times and looks great. Avoid downtown of ALL cities. They are older and more bums and hoodlems hang out there.
We have so much here, we never venture out further then our area unless we go to the strip.
Do NOT hook up with a house on craigslist, too many frauds. Hook up with a Realtor, they will get you a place in your price range and know of the apartments and condos that are owned individually. Plus you have a better chance of getting a place when you have a Realtor helping you.. yes a Realtor even for rentals.
Most condos and apartments are individually owned and have HOA’s. Which sometimes make your payment higher. In our case, all our fees are included in our price which makes it affordable.
Look for an apartment community that has a gate and a fence all the way around. Some apartments are open to driving traffic which means that walking people can venture in. When we looked for condos, we talked to the neighbors, which helped a bunch. There is an apartment complex on the corner of Silverado Ranch and Eastern, nice area, but when we went upstairs you walk around and you could feel the floor move. It was uneasy, we passed.
If its a house or an apartment, check out the area and see whats going on in the neighborhood. Las Vegas PD has a crime site which will show you everything that goes on. It will be very helpful to see if you would be in a high crime area or not. I haven’t found one for Henderson, but if you stick with southwest of henderson you will do good.
Good luck and I hope your move was a successful as ours was. We love it here. So much to do, so much to see.
North Las Vegas is good (not the old part of town near the city hall though).
Boulder City is good, my boyfriend lives there and it’s a very cute town.
I would NEVER live downtown! never. The only people who live downtown are hobos
I’m not too familiar with Henderson, but from what I’ve seen it seems nice, though there are probably some bad parts, as with all cities.
Summerlin is pretty nice or spring valley. There are many towns in the las vegas valley. But look in the city guides of cities in the las vegas valley.
Henderson is a very safe city and it’s great for raising families. It has a lot of great schools and it is very close to the heart of Las Vegas. In some parts of Henderson (In the mountains) you can actually see the strip all lit up at night. There are also suburbs in Las Vegas that are very nice! If you’re not looking for an apartment right in the heart of things there are tons out towards the mountains and such.
I live in the far northwest side of town, it is great the crowd hasn’t got out here yet. Housing prices are fair, not much traffic.
