Thank you for this video! Mario Del Monaco grande, immortale!!!
Oct. 16th 1982, what a black-letter day, 27 years ago, I am very sad and I miss him.
Mario; un grande cantante di musica lirica. gloria della opera Italiana!
Thank you sharing this vidio of the Great mario I cried I loved him so.
:’-(
He was a great human being, bravo!! I like his voice very much – I wished to see him on the opera and singing also the Armenian Opera Anoush, which needs also very dramatic tenor voice likes Mario Del Monaco’s one.. Italians must be proud on him, don’t listen only Eros Ramazotti and Laura Pausini please!
Grazie maestro per tutta la tua arte, per la tua voce meravigliosa!! Del Monaco e Di Stefano, uno dramatico, un’altro lirico, la gloria della opera Italiana!!
He has such a gentle speaking voice, but such a powerful singing voice.
We,the mere mortals, can only imagine how does it feel for him in the old age cause he was the greatest voice, incredible artist, man universally admired.Everywhere where he went to perform only the best could be heard of him.I guess that such great people really have to find the way to cope with it,with the fact that their best days are history, that they cant do it anymore. But I also guess, that its great feeling to know how big is your legacy, that you wont be forgotten, surely a soothing feeling.
I thank you!
The song at the beginning is “Tu, ca nun chiagne” by Ernesto deCurtis
Kind time! Very much I ask to remind the song name with which this record – the name and the composer begins, a memory blackout)
and what a delivery it was !!
As far as I search on the web, I see that he had a kidney disease.
In This days 25 years without MDM.
He was THE GRATEST OF THEM ALL.
I get the distinct impression that MDM must have already been in failing health by this time. Can someone fill me in??
Great Mario Del Monaco!!, this interview is a classic.
A great neapolitan singer (whatever it is nowadays).
I have viewed this interview several times. It is truly quite gripping, as you view the man and the fact that he truly misses singing. What a TENOR.
