I know there were a lot of rumors but we really should just try as much as we can to respect his memory and not talk about the trash even he didn’t read. As far as I know Elvis spent his time reading fan mail. God rest his soul because we his fans and the Colornel were the ones that took his energy and those close to him took his Love and threw it like it was trash with the exception of some.But Priscilla was always jealous. I’m not sure not speaking or seeing someone for years and then showing up at his funeral after letting your manager tip the press when you would arrive is friendship. Hey, I think Ann was a strong, sexual woman who knew her power. If I had the chance to direct her she could have easily wrecked my life as she almost did Elvis with P and the director with the studio. How does a man say no to a woman who knows her power, and uses it? No one is innocent…..

LOL hollywood fairytales? hehe.. so what if AM told the press that she & Elvis were engaged ~ obviously Elvis didn’t hold a grudge b/c they remained close friends until he passed away. I realize Elvis was no saint, but I wouldn’t believe everything in Priscilla’s book – the woman is clearly off her rocker..
I’m glad someone believes in the Hollywood fairy tales. Ann did the press conference,. It’s in Prisilla’s book. I give up. You win. Elvis was a gentleman who just happened to throw a pool stick into a womans breats, and Ann didn’t go around Elvis to announce she was engaged for publicity. When Elvis died, his fans refused to believe he took drugs or anything else bad. Keep the flame alive. I find the truth more interesting.
of course VLV didn’t take a year to film -AM and Elvis were romantically involved during the filming and for a while thereafter – adding up to a year total. From what i gather, the press started rumors about the two being engaged, secretly married, etc… partially triggered by the wedding scene at the end of VLV. I wouldn’t be surprised if Col Parker instigated those rumors in order to get more publicity for his meal ticket.. Parker was a total scheister..
The only evidence is from the girl Elvis met at 14 and later married. (How he got away with that long term affair and Jerry Lee Lewis didn’t is an oddness with the American public). Though Ann did announce they were engaged there was no 1 year fling. This would not be the only film such rumors would crop up. Also, it didn’t take a year to make VIVA.
Her press conference announcing the engagement shows a very calculating young woman.
AM & Elvis were romantically involved for about a year, so i think its a given that they slept together lol.. therefore, she doesn’t need to say it. in addition, she doesn’t seem the type to “kiss & tell” ~ that’s a true sign of a lady.. Elvis never blabbed about their romance either ~ they respected & loved each other and remained friends til the end
Ann has never said if she even slept with Elvis, so we’ll never really know.
the director was enamoured with Ann-Margret, therefore he wanted to give her a considerable amount of screen time in this film. she wasn’t sleeping with the director – he was just charmed by her, that’s it. she & Elvis had a passionate love affair during the filming of VLV and sometime thereafter – I srsly doubt that Elvis would’ve put up with competing with another man while he & AM were together ~ Nooo Wayy!

Happy 75th Birthday Elvis! Col. Parker saw this scene and went beserk. He was angry that Elvis was sharing screen time with Ann during Elvis’ solo! Hangers on told him that Ann was sleeping with Elvis and the director George Sidney. She had total control of the set! Both Elvis and George ignored Parker, and this great film was the result. And 2 very happy men!
