I am doing a project for class about Monaco and cant seem to find any information on a national dish. I have checked the web but nothing in particular comes up. If you are a native or have been there and know the answer i would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
I worked with a chef years ago who was born and worked for a hotel in Monaco, being a “Principality” and situated between France and Italy on the Meditteranan Sea ,it has a blend of both cultures in is food, as it is so small alot of the foods if not 99% are imported.
On the sea there is alot fresh fish and seafood, and dishes much like those served in the 2 ajoining countrys, I do not know what the net will prove, but there is no distinct cuisine, but check out what Wikipedia has to say.
Monaco’s cuisine is mainly Mediterranean, with lots of fresh tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, onions, and olives. Seafood is also very plentiful. Bouillabaisse, a fish stew, is a national favorite and often considered the national dish. Champagne is the national beverage. It’s unique cuisine is largely influenced by the French with hints of Italian.
