The thing people don’t seem to realize is that (in this case) System of a Down probably really like this song (because it’s awesome) and chose to cover it. I haven’t heard their version of it, but I doubt it’s as bad as people say…and even if it isn’t very good, I respect them for covering a good song.
I guess I just kind of celebrate music as a whole, instead of getting pissed off about the little things.
The cover of Talk Talk’s “It’s My Life” comes to mind also.
People see things thru the lens of what they are familiar with. It is likely an epiphany of sorts for some to realize that their cherished band did a favorite song as a cover. I’ve been there too, so I understand. However, I have never said that any original “sucks” or anything like that. Props to the original writers of this great song.

I really like SOAD,the 1st 2 albums are killer, but they did a pretty crap remake of this song. Plus Terri Nunn is/was hot
obviously the only song you listened to is BYOB. Listen to “mind” or “Know”. you wont find any lalalala’s in there.
This song was well worth listening to before System of a Down even thought about covering it. Everything about SOAD is ***. No, you’re right, they’re not ***. There’s absolutely nothing *** about singing “lalalalalala” in the middle of a song while you’re trying to be serious.

Ew System Of A Down covered this?! EWW! What a disgrace, that is one of the gayest bands, with their “la la la la la la” in their songs and what not. And this song is amazing…
